WOW I haven't posted on here in a couple of months, where has the time gone I ask myself! To fill you in on somethings, I started a job in June as a FULL TIME babysitter to 3 wonderful kids. Monday-Friday from 7:30AM-4:30PM, so you can see where I got off track from. Also in July, my parents came up to visit us in Alaska for the 1st time and I really enjoyed having them. And I believe they really enjoyed Alaska as well.
The summer has come and gone faster than I expected, but this "Summer" wasn't really much of a summer. It rained here for 31 days STRAIGHT, a new record for Anchorage, AK! SO there were days that we stayed inside a lot, and Bella got cabin fever a lot. Also, my husband is in Korea right now due to his job in The Air Force(duty calls) and he will be coming home soon. Me & the kids(animals) will be so happy about that...this house is to lonely without him here, and I know they miss him too!
Well that's a little update for now. HOPEFULLY I can keep up with this blog thing;)

Stop Animal Abuse!!
I've recently joined to volunteer at the SPCA here in Alaska!!! That is where we have adopted out cat Inky. Most of the people who know me, know the love I have for animals...it's unconditional love. I wish I could help all the animals out there and stop animal abuse all together. Unfortunately I can't:(
The other day I was watching Dr.Phil(I don't watch him much) but it just so happened to have an episode on that had an accused dog fighter on the show. It caught my eye on the preview, on what horrible things this guy was saying. And I must say, during the show I did cry....it was heartbreaking for me to watch. I really wish the law had more harsh consequences for people like this. The man only got 6 months in jail for this, IMO I think he should get life. I just don't see how people can hurt an animal, it makes me sick to my stomach that people harm animals for fun.
Here is the preview on the episode I'm talking about:

Helped save a life=]
I am so HAPPY words can't even describe!! I was looking on craigslist in our local area and I saw an ad about a 1year old cat in the shelter and that he was going to be euthanized this coming Wednesday. And I was not about to let that happen!! I know I can't save all the animals but something about this kitty called out to me to help him get out. So I shared the link on my Facebook so all my friends that live here could see the ad and would want to adopt him!!
I was just hoping someone would get him before wednesday came! Well one of my friends who lives on base contacted me about wanting more information. And she said she would ADOPT HIM:)))) I feel as if I didn't post that ad about this little man that he might not have had a chance to live a happy life. So I'm thrilled that I helped save his life. And I really wish I could save all of the innocent animals out there, and it breaks my heart that I can't. But now I'm smiling knowing that I saved just 1 animal,
and hopefully more in the future.

Tanning Dangers=Skin Cancer
I decided I would write an article on the dangers of tanning, since my mom had a form of skin cancer years ago. The main reason of skin cancer is due from to much sun exposure.
Now don't get me wrong, looking tan looks great right??? Well what if I told you this is what tanning does to your skin:
The sun's UV rays damage the DNA of the skin's epidermal cells, triggering enzymes that race to repair the damage. However, these enzymes do not always repair the DNA successfully, and all this unrepaired damage can lead to mutations that increase the risk of skin cancer. Also, repeated unprotected sun exposure can cause photoaging – wrinkles, sagging skin, and age spots associated with sun damage.
(now idk about y'all but I'd rather be white and keep my skin looking as young as possible)
Most people say "Oh as long as I don't get sunburnt, I'm fine!"....but that's NOT the case.
Both are dangerous, because both result from DNA damage to the skin cells. So its safe to say that both burning and tanning play major roles in skin cancer.
A tan, whether you get it on the beach, in a bed, or through incidental exposure, is bad news, any way you acquire it. Tans are caused by harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or tanning lamps, and if you have one, you’ve sustained skin cell damage. No matter what you may hear at tanning salons, the cumulative damage caused by UV radiation can lead to premature skin aging (wrinkles, lax skin, brown spots, and more), as well as skin cancer.
So stay safe when your outside under those rays...and if your going to take a dip in the pool, make sure to lather up in high SPF sunscreen. OR you might look like this one day!!!

Best lotions...
Ok I've always thought I had a talent on beauty products...like knowing what is good & what is bad. So I've now thought I would like to share with my followers on what good products to use and the bad ones to toss out!
Sooo I'm starting off with some of the best lotions you can buy at the drugstores. Because living up here in this dry alaska air is hard on my skin=/ So I have to keep it moisturized as much as I can.
